Rollover Minutes

The annoying commercial buzzes about rollover minutes on a cellphone plan, boasting that this is one of the reasons that make the company the one to pick. The majority of America listening to this may roll their eyes and change the channel, but it sparks a connection in me that led to this morning at 5:20 a.m.
My alarm clock beeped at me until I could no longer justify staying in my warm bed. I had responsibilities. However, in the moments after switching off the alarm, I remembered an old commercial I had seen about rollover minutes for phones. How nice it would be to have rollover minutes in the morning! Just the day before, I had planned on sleeping in to catch up on all the sleep I "miss" during the week days. To my surprise I was up at 7:30 a.m. and could not find the sweetness of sleep for even one more minute.
This morning, those extra two hours would have been a gift, if I could have only rolled them over from yesterday.
Time is a fickle thing. As much as I might wish, rolling it over into the next day or saving some for later is not possible. I guess my only option then is to use it wisely.
