Gli Alberi

There is something about the simply majesty of a tree that is breathtaking. Often, I find myself looking up through their branches to glimpse the world from their perspectives. Such is the power of the tree that they have stood for many years, yet are always changing. In a recent bit of research, there is an Italian tradition called "Il nozze di legno" which is essentially the marriage between two trees to symbolize the citizens' connection with nature. What a beautiful idea!

As I find myself considering my fascination with trees, I think constantly of their roots. Like trees, I have a root system that only rarely peeks aboveground, yet is one of the most important parts of who I am. Whatever the reasoning behind my enchantment, trees are a beautiful reminder of the fragility and strength of nature.
